Assistance Fund
I. Purpose and Mission
The Zhang Zhiru Legal Aid Fund, formally known as the Zhang Zhiru Legal Services (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. Aid Fund, is an internal corporate public welfarefund established by Zhang Zhiru Legal Services (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. In accordance with the company’s articles of association and resolutions of the shareholders’meeting, the fund aims to actively fulfill corporate social responsibility by dedicating 10% of the company’s annual revenue as foundational funding to support social welfare initiatives focused on labor rights.
Founded by renowned labor rights advocate Zhang Zhiru (recognized as one of the Southern Wind Weekly’s Top Ten Public Welfare Figures of the Year in 2011) and other individuals committed to workers’ rights, Zhang Zhiru Legal Services primarily provides legal assistance to labor communities. With deep empathy for workers cultivated through years of legal training and aid initiatives, Zhang Zhiru established this fund to offer specialized legal aid to laborers.
II. Funding Sources
In addition to allocating 10% of its annual revenue to the fund, Zhang Zhiru Legal Services will contribute all income generated from legal consultation fees and personal legal advisory services to strengthen the fund’s financial capacity and expand its public welfare outreach.
The Zhang Zhiru Legal Aid Fund is an internally managed fund financed solely by the company and does not accept external donations.
III. Eligibility for Aid
Workers meeting any of the following criteria may apply for legal aid:
1. Child laborers or workers exceeding the statutory retirement age;
2. Workers affected by work-related injuries, occupational diseases, or wage arrears lasting over three months;
3. Workers unlawfully retaliated against or dismissed for assisting colleagues in rights protection;
4. Workers whose lawful rights are violated due to upholding social justice or acts of heroism;
5. Workers who have been company members for over one year and have participated in or supported its public welfare activities;
6. Female workers subjected to unfair treatment, forced resignation, or unlawful dismissal during pregnancy, maternity, or breastfeeding periods;
7. Workers seeking employer compensation for medical expenses due to critical illnesses arising from the employer’s failure to legally contribute to social insurance;
8. Other labor dispute cases of significant social relevance or individuals in financial hardship requiring legal aid.
IV. Scope of Assistance
The Zhang Zhiru Legal Aid Fund provides free non-litigation legal services, including but not limited to: legal consultation, drafting legal documents, evidence collection and investigation, assistance with work-related injury or occupational disease certification, disability assessment, mediation support, arbitration or litigation representation, and applications for property preservation or enforcement.
Economically disadvantaged workers may apply for both legal and financial assistance.
V. Oversight Mechanism
All funds are strictly allocated to labor-related legal and financial aid initiatives and shall not be diverted for company operations or shareholder profit distribution. The fund will regularly publish detailed financial statements to ensure transparency and public accountability.
